What’s It Like To Meet Beyonce? Just Ask Meghan Trainor

Although most of us will never meet Beyoncé, let us not hate on those who manage to do so — like Meghan Trainor. I, for one, shall cherish her good fortune and celebrate her brush with such a flawless female version of a hustla. Bitter? Me? PAH. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

MTV News caught up with the “Lips Are Movin’” singer on the Grammys red carpet last night to ask her about her chance encounter.

“I got to meet [Beyoncé], and she said that her daughter and her love dancing to my songs,” Meghan told MTV red carpet correspondents Christina Garibaldi and Todrick Hall at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 8). “I’ve cried four times about it — I’m her biggest fan.”

Meghan also shared that her team originally pitched “All About That Bass” to the “7/11″ singer.

“I was a songwriter — my job was to write for other pop stars,” the 21-year-old singer said. “We knew Beyoncé loved her curves, so [my team] was like, ‘What about Beyoncé?’”

Meghan continued: “Her record label said, like, ‘I don’t know if it’s her sound right now.’”

It’s a good thing for Ms. Trainor that Bey passed on “All About That Bass,” considering how it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for, like, a million weeks last year and all.
