A 13-year-old boy who disappeared after another pupil and a teacher were attacked with a knife has been arrested.
The boy was found this afternoon and arrested on suspicion of wounding and carrying a bladed weapon following the incident at The Chase Technology College in Malvern, West Mercia Police said.
Detectives launched a search following the attack around 8.45am on Monday, after which the suspect fled the scene.
The teacher and student were treated for minor injuries after they were attacked.
Superintendent Mark Travis said: “He is safe and well.
“He has currently been arrested and has been taken to Worcester police station where we are going to be working with his family over the coming hours to provide the appropriate support and also working with the school to make sure that the school can be open tomorrow for business as usual.”
Police have not said where the boy was found.
Lessons resumed a few hours after the incident as police had the situation under control, the school said.
A spokesman said: “Plans were immediately implemented to ensure that all students and staff were safe.
“The police attended the school promptly and have assisted the school throughout the course of the day, enabling our lessons to return to normal by mid-morning.
“I would like to praise our students and staff for remaining calm and continuing with their education throughout today. The school will be open tomorrow and will continue to operate normally.
“Support is available at the school to support anybody that has been affected by today’s earlier incident.”
