David Easter is new Dales guest

Former Brookside actor David Easter is set to appear in Emmerdale.

The 53-year-old actor will play Gil, a businessman who Declan Macey turns to for help with his growing financial problems.

David – who is best known for playing Family Affairs villain Pete Callan – will first appear on screen in the ITV soap on November 20.

Declan faces financial ruin after staking everything he owned on his festival venture, which collapsed when the dead body of Alex Moss was found on his land.

The formerly cool and collected businessman is gradually falling apart under the pressure.

Declan will turn to newcomer Gil in desperation, believing he could save him by buying Home Farm and all the other property he owns in the village.
