Ding murders trial set to begin



The trial of a Chinese businessman accused of murdering a family of four is to begin today.


Anxiang Du, 55, has pleaded not guilty to four separate counts of murder relating to the deaths of Manchester Metropolitan U niversity lecturer Jifeng “Jeff’” Ding, his wife, Ge “Helen” Chui, and their two daughers, Xing, 18, and Alice, 12.


Du, who was formally arrested in February after being extradited to the UK from Morocco, is to stand trial at Northampton Crown Court.


The Ding family were found stabbed to death at their home in Wootton, Northamptonshire, on April 29, 2011 .


Du, 55, of Coventry, was remanded in custody following his last appearance at Northampton Crown Court.
