McKellen's Vicious to air in US

Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi’s sitcom Vicious is heading across the pond.

The ITV show, which sees the two veteran theatrical knights play a bickering gay couple, will air on PBS, reported Deadline.

The first series, which also stars Harry Potter’s Frances de la Tour and Game Of Thrones’ Iwan Rheon, will be screened next year.

The six-part comedy premiered in the UK in April and has been renewed for a second series.

It follows Freddie, an ageing actor played by Sir Ian, and Stuart, played by Sir Derek, who have lived together in a cramped Covent Garden flat for almost 50 years.

Deadline said that an American version of the series is also being considered.
