Call Of Duty: Ghosts will go on sale at midnight at hundreds of stores across the UK.
Activision Publishing is hosting a red-carpet event tonight at the IndigO2 in London to mark the launch, where celebrities will take part in a multiplayer tournament of the console game.
Hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks, rapper Wretch 32 and footballers Andros Townsend and Daniel Sturridge are among the stars who will be playing in the tournament to celebrate the release of the game.
Each celebrity will lead a squad of six players. Fans were encouraged to apply via Twitter to play on a squad by explaining to their captain of choice why they should be chosen.
Developed by Infinity Ward, Ghosts is the tenth version of the Call Of Duty franchise, which is played by 40 million people each month.
In the new version of the game, players can customise their soldier with up to 9,000 combinations. Players can also use seven new multiplayer modes such as Cranked, Search & Rescue and Blitz.
Video games retailer GAME will be opening more than 300 stores at midnight. At the Stratford branch, fans will be given raffle tickets to win entry into the Activision launch party.
The tournament will be live streamed from 8.30pm at www.youtube.com/callofduty
