SEATTLE (AP) — A Chinese student who was speeding on a residential street when a crash killed the other driver pleaded guilty Tuesday in Seattle to vehicular homicide.
Yichun Xu also pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment for injuries to three passengers in the other car.
The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/2BhoPY ) he faces 15 months in prison when he is sentenced March 7.
Prosecutors said the Chines national had been in the United States two months attending South Puget Sound Community College when he crashed in November 2012. He was driving a newly purchased Mercedes-Benz at high speed. He ran a stop sign and hit a car, killing 25-year-old Brenda Gomez-Zapata.
His family posted a $2 million bail while he was awaiting trial.
