As part of Rick Ross’s master plan, the rapper’s sixth studio album, Mastermind, is streaming now on iTunes in advance of its March 4th release date.
Less than two years since the release of God Forgives, I Don’t, Rozay has put together an album featuring guest appearances by Kanye West, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, French Montana, Meek Mill, Jeezy, the Weeknd, Sizzla and Mavado. It’s a record that starts off with a literal bang as Ross says, “If you love hip-hop, bust some shots,” on the album’s first full song, “Rich Is Gangsta.”

Deeper into the album, however, Ross demonstrates the sort of power a mastermind should possess: He managed to secure a guest appearance by the most-wanted man in hip-hop, Kanye West, on Mastermind cut “Sanctified.”
After a gospel sample about being born again – something a Yeezus figure should understand – West raps about how he feels people play up his earlier works and dismiss who he is now. “When Ali turn up and be Ali, you can’t ever take that n—a back to Cassius,” he raps, before saying that he’s not going to sweat it. “Wipe my forehead with a handkerchief and wash my sins in the blood of Jesus,” he raps. “People sayin’, ”Ye, we need another Yeezus.’” Your move, Ross.
