OSAKA, Japan (AP) — Kotaro Omori and Yasuhito Endo scored second-half goals as Gamba Osaka beat FC Tokyo 2-1 to close the gap on J-League leaders Urawa Reds.
Omori opened the scoring in the 52nd minute and Endo doubled the advantage with a free kick five minutes later as Gamba improved to 55 points, just three behind Urawa with four games remaining.
Tadanari Lee scored in the second half as Urawa earned a 1-1 draw with Kashima Antlers, who are third on 51 points.
In other matches, Naoki Ishihara scored twice as champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima improved to 45 points with a 3-1 win over Shimizu S-Pulse. Kashiwa Reysol beat Vegalta Sendai 2-1 on goals by Hirofumi Watanabe and Leandro.
Ventforet Kofu beat Kawasaki Frontale 2-1 while Yokohama Marinos and Cerezo Osaka finished 0-0.
