Nick Cannon has heard rumors about how he’d address his divorce from Mariah Carey on his next album. On Monday (December 29), the rapper and “Wild ‘N Out” host hit Twitter to explain his stance on the matter.
“I will never say anything negative about @MariahCarey,” he tweeted. “We are forever a family rooted in love.”

After shooting down rumors of a diss track, Cannon went on to explain that he likes to keep certain details about his personal life to himself.
I am always an open book but Personal matters are just that “Personal.” So please respect my family and respect the process.

Cannon and Carey announced their split in August. At the time, he said the most difficult part of the divorce were the opinions he had to hear from the public.
“It’s interesting because dealing with your personal life in the public eye and really, a lot of the time, public opinion is the harshest thing about it,” he said.
