Are you in serious need of a summer getaway? Well, cue up Hilary Duff‘s new video for “Chasing the Sun.” After it leaked online early on Monday, the singer has released her carefree new single — and its equally sunny video too.
The track, co-written by Colbie Caillat, has a beachy, summery lilt and tells you to go with the flow, live life to the fullest and all those other sun-soaked cliches.
The 26-year-old mother of Luca has been teasing the single for most of the summer, telling us a while back that her upcoming album — her first since Dignity, seven years ago — has an “earthy, indie-pop vibe.” That description seems to fit “Chasing the Sun” in that it puts you outdoors, dancing in the sand with an easy beat, an acoustic guitar base and simple lyrics.
