Rihanna is performing at the Grammys this year, which means we’ll be blessed with a red carpet look, a performance look, and possibly even more. Can you deal? I can barely deal. In order to prepare to hear “FourFiveSeconds” live for the first time and the RIHturn of ~Grammys Rihanna~, we figured it was the perfect time to take a look back at all of badgalriri’s Grammys outfits.
Let’s do this—we’ve got a lot to fit in before Sunday.
2007

For her first Grammys, bb Rih wore a green, one-shoulder Roberto Cavalli gown. Her right hip also made its first Grammys appearance—#WERK that carpet, hip.
2008

At the 2008 Grammys—the first year she won!—Rih wore a short blue Zac Posen dress and (matching) short hair. Umbrella-era Rihanna foreverrrr.

For her performance of “Umbrella,” Rihanna wore a feathery corset dress and ditched her piece-y bangs for a voluminous ~quiff~.
2010

At the 2010 show, Rih wore a high-collared Elie Saab gown, and brought back her affinity for feathers. It is the only time—so far!—that Rihanna has worn a turtleneck to the Grammys.
2011

2011 was Rihanna’s busiest Grammys, and she kicked things off with this sheer Jean Paul Gaultier gown. Her bright red hair was out in full force and stood out against the dress’ white feathers. I’m sensing a feather theme here, anyone else?

For her first performance—”What’s My Name?” with Drake—Rih wore this fringed and bedazzled look, consisting of something that barely qualifies as a shirt and hotpants.

For her second—”Love The Way You Lie” with Eminem—Rih changed into this floral gown from Christian Dior. Rihanna tends to favor sleeker silhouettes than full ones, but—um, hi—this is so glam and, IDK, regal? Very into this look.
2012

The 2012 Grammys were Rihanna at her peak sleekness, in a backless Armani dress. Her hair was blonde, banged, and perfectly mussed. There’s a reason she’s the best, you know?

For her performance of “We Found Love” and “Princess Of China,” she kept up the sleek black theme, changing into a ~casual~ performance outfit consisting of a sheer croptop, leather shorts, and boots.
2013

While no words can accurately reflect how drop-dead gorgeous Rih looked at the 2013 Grammys, let’s just say this sheer, red Azzedine Alaia gown is one of her best looks ever. Ever. Hands down.

And for her second—a tribute to Bob Marley—she switched things up with a sparkly white croptop and skirt. Like, who would even think to wear this at the Grammys? Who would even look this good, you know? Only Rihanna.
