Ball wants Strictly for real people

Zoe Ball has said she would like to see a Strictly Come Dancing spin-off that features ordinary members of the public instead of celebrities.

The It Takes Two presenter and former Strictly contestant told The Sun she wants real people to perform for judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell, which would be like the show’s predecessor Come Dancing.

She said: “They should do a public spin-off, like MasterChef. It would be the golden ticket – can you imagine if you got a golden shoe invitation posted through your door!”

Zoe said she liked to make sure normal people were involved in It Takes Two: “We have Natalie Lowe teaching a couple how to dance for their wedding. It’s going to be the ultimate wedding dance.”

The radio DJ, who is married to DJ Fatboy Slim, said they and their two children Woody, 12, and Nelly, three, loved to watch Strictly at home.

She said: “Woody loves playing computer games but even he will chip in and say, ‘That wasn’t a cha-cha-cha!’ Nelly loves the show, too.”
