Google previews new Glass hardware with earbud

Google has given us a first look at the redesigned version of Google Glass first announced on Monday.

The photos highlight users wearing Glass, featuring the mono ear bud Glass Explorers will be able to switch out for later this year. While the new version also supports prescription lenses, they are not highlighted in the Google+ posting.

Explorers who bought a device before 28 October are eligible to trade for the new version. They’ll have 60 days to register once the swap program opens, and can even trade for different colors. “We’ll proactively notify Explorers in November with next steps for the swap program,” Google said.

As for who can now buy Glass, Google said all Explorers will have the opportunity to invite three friends to join the Explorer program. Google will open this opportunity sometime over the next few weeks.
