Crawley House Explosion Claims Woman's Life



A woman in her 50s has died after an explosion at a house in Crawley, West Sussex.



Police were called to the address in Banks Road at 12.30pm.



A woman was taken from the property and treated by paramedics but died at the scene shortly afterwards. There is not believed to have been anyone else in the house.



It is unclear what caused the blast, but it is not thought to be suspicious.



Damage was confined to the interior of the house and no other properties were affected.



Drivers were asked to avoid the immediate area as surrounding roads were closed while the scene was examined.
