One of the two men found guilty of the murder of soldier Lee Rigby has lodged an application to appeal against conviction, the Judicial Office confirmed today.
The Court of Appeal move has been made by Michael Adebolajo, 29, following his conviction with co-defendant Michael Adebowale, 22, at the Old Bailey last month.
British Muslim converts Adebolajo and Adebowale ran Fusilier Rigby down in a car before hacking him to death with a meat cleaver and knives in a frenzied attack. They dumped his body in the middle of the road near Woolwich Barracks in south east London on May 22 last year.
