Emmerdale is set to welcome ex Corrie star Tracy Brabin to the cast, who has said a job on the soap is a dream come true for her.
Tracy played cleaner Tricia Armstrong in Coronation Street for three years and has also appeared in EastEnders before as pimp Roxy Drake.
She will play Carole in ITV soap Emmerdale, a new love interest for Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) who will be the catalyst for a love triangle with vicar Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton).
When Ashley meets Carole, he is reluctant to introduce her to his friends, but Harriet wades in and texts her from Ashley’s phone which brings her to the village.
However, Harriet’s meddling backfires when things start to go very well for the new couple, making her realise she is jealous of them being together.
Tracy said: “It is a total delight to be playing Carole back in my home town of Leeds. She’s funny and sexy with a dark secret.
“Ever since I played Trisha in Coronation Street, it’s been a personal and professional ambition to work with the wonderful actors and writers of Emmerdale. I hope the public take to Carole as much as I have.”
Tracy has also written for soaps Hollyoaks and Family Affairs, as well as other TV series including Heartbeat and Crossroads.
She is due to make her first appearance in Emmerdale on Wednesday, July 23.
