LOS ANGELES (AP) — The TV comedy “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is tipping its hat to “True Detective.”
In the FXX sitcom’s episode airing Wednesday, there’s a long, uncut tracking shot that was inspired by the HBO crime drama.
“Always Sunny” star and executive producer Glenn Howerton says the sustained shot involves a rushed cleanup of Paddy’s pub before a health inspection.
In “True Detective” last season, a six-minute scene tracked Matthew McConaughey in and out of frenzied danger during a robbery.
“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is in its 10th season and airs on cable channel FXX.
