Injury fear for Strictly's Robinson

Casualty star Patrick Robinson has suffered his own medical woes with a hand injury which he said could jeopardise his future in Strictly Come Dancing.

The actor posted a message online saying he was hurt – just a day before the next live heat of the BBC1 dance show.

He told his followers on Twitter: ” Owwwww! My hand is not good… Might be out of competition.”

For this week’s show Patrick had been rehearsing a salsa to Wings by Little Mix, which included three lifts, but now he looks to be unable to manage to get professional partner Anya Garnis airborne.

Show bosses are now trying to find out exactly what he has done to see if his routine can be adapted in time.

He has already been in pain during the contest. Earlier in the series Patrick was forced to wear supports on both knees after excessive training for the jive left him with sore joints.

In last Saturday’s edition of the show, he finished with 33 points from the judges – putting him just behind joint leaders Natalie Gumede, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Abbey Clancy.

Patrick damaged his wrist while rollerblading for a video insert which was being prepared for the show.

He was still in pain by the afternoon, with swelling and some fluid on the joint.

Patrick is expected to take part in tomorrow’s show (October 26), although his whole routine has had to be redone, to eliminate lifts, and he is also unable to grip his partner.
