Three British people were among five injured after an explosion in a hotel pool bar on the island of Tenerife, according to reports.
A woman suffered serious burns to her face and scalp in the blast in Adeje, on the south-west coast of the island, on Friday evening.
An eight-year-old British girl was treated for neck burns and another man suffered minor abrasions during the explosion.
Two other women, aged 38 and 34, also suffered burns and were treated in hospital, El Mundo reported.
A staff member at the Bahia Principe hotel confirmed to Sky News there was an explosion on Friday. Management was unavailable when Sky News contacted the hotel.
A Foreign Office (FCO) spokesperson confirmed it was investigating reports of British people being injured.
She said: “We are aware of reports of an incident involving British nationals.
“We are liaising with authorities and we stand ready with consular assistance.”
