Lightning strikes have sparked a series of fires in the South East, leading to travel disruptions on domestic trains and Eurostar services.
Four Eurostar trains have been halted on the line after a fire broke out near the UK entrance to the Channel Tunnel.
Eurostar said two trains from Paris, one from London, and another from Brussels were stopped.
Nobody has been injured in the blaze, which remains out of control. No trains are being held inside the tunnel.
South Eastern train services have also been disrupted due to lightning strikes.
Replacement bus services are running between Dover Priory and Ashford.
Kent Fire and Rescue said in a statement that firefighters have been called to “a number of incidents” in the Folkestone and Dover areas.
“Crews have been fighting a fire in an electrical substation at the Dollands Moore Freight Depot in Folkestone,” the statement said.
“They were also in attendance to deal with a second incident in an isolation control building in Sandling Road Folkestone.”
A house in Dover was also struck by lightning, with reports the roof and chimney stack were smoking.
