The mother of three-year-old Mikaeel Kular is due to appear at a private hearing at an Edinburgh court on Tuesday charged with his murder.
Rosdeep Kular, 33, was charged after police discovered her son’s body in woodland behind her sister’s Kirkcaldy bungalow on January 18, two days after he was reported missing.
The accused said her son had disappeared after he was put him to bed at their Edinburgh home at around 9.00pm on January 15. She told police his room was found empty in the morning.
A police helicopter, sniffer dogs, the coastguard and neighbours joined in the search.
She is due to appear at the city’s Sherrif court, charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
