Miranda Lambert is getting ready to celebrate her latest Number One single, “Platinum,” at a Nashville party Monday night, but it’s her husband Blake Shelton who currently sits atop the country charts with “My Eyes,” featuring Gwen Sebastian. The hit becomes Shelton’s 12th consecutive Number One and continues his record-breaking streak of the most consecutive chart-toppers in monitored country airplay history.

“My Eyes” is Shelton’s 17th Number One and his fifth consecutive single to top the charts from his latest album, the Grammy-nominated Based on a True Story…. The Oklahoma native made history earlier this year when “Doin’ What She Likes” became his 11th Number One in a row. “My Eyes” took a mere 11 weeks to reach the chart summit.

Gwen Sebastian first came to Shelton’s attention during the second season of The Voice in 2012, joining Team Blake but being eliminated before the live rounds began. She would go on to join the country superstar’s Well Lit and Amplified tour.

“The first time I ever heard Gwen’s voice I knew it was something special,” Shelton said at the time. “She has the rare ability to combine power with passion in her singing abilities. Although our journey together has ended on The Voice, it’s just beginning in real life.”

Blake Shelton’s Ten Times Crazier trek is now underway featuring the Band Perry, Dan + Shay and Neal McCoy.
