PM Slated As Boris Sister's Twitter 'Hacked'

David Cameron, in opposition, once said: “The trouble with Twitter, the instantness of it – too many twits might make a twat.”

Well, he was certainly on the end of an unintentional Twitter tirade when Rachel Johnson, editor of weekly magazine The Lady and sister of London Mayor Boris Johnson, tweeted…

@David_Cameron why are you such an egg face ****?

Within minutes Mrs Johnson, who has 22,000 followers, said she had been hacked, deleted the tweet and said: “Yup. Hacked. Apologies everyone and especially to our Leader. Am trying to sort”

Followed by: “I’ve deleted the egg-faced See You Next Tuesday tweet and I do hope children that will be the end of the matter.”

The tweet, which unsurprisingly has provoked an amusing succession of replies, has seen Boris Johnson taking much of the blame.

Many including @GeneralBoles have suggested in jest that the London Mayor and possible Conservative leadership contender could have been the hacker.

Rachel Johnson is not the first person around Westminster to have tweeted something by mistake or indeed to have been hacked.

There was of course the @EdBalls at Ed Balls (tweeting his own name), George Osborne and his posh burger and Ed Miliband on the death of Bob Holness who mistakenly paid tribute to the host of Blackbusters rather than Blockbusters.

But sometimes apologies aren’t enough.

Emily Thornberry resigned from the Shadow Cabinet last week after tweeting a photo she had taken while campaigning in Rochester which was viewed as “snobbish” and “very disrespectful and rude”.
