Taylor Swift’s music has suddenly been removed from online streaming services without explanation.
The singer and her record label have not explained the move but in the past she has withheld some of her new music from services such as Spotify, possibly to help drive sales before making it more widely available.

A message in a Spotify blog post said it hoped she would reconsider.
It said: “We love Taylor Swift, and our more than 40 million users love her even more – nearly 16 million of them have played her songs in the last 30 days, and she’s on over 19 million playlists.

“We hope she’ll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone. We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy. That’s why we pay nearly 70% of our revenue back to the music community.”
Her fans aren’t happy about it either.

I can’t believe Taylor Swift removed all of her music from Spotify just as I was growing to be a fan of hers.

I was regaining a lot of the lost respect I had for Taylor Swift recently but this Spotify thing really upsets me. 1/3

Even though she’s rolling in dough @taylorswift13 pulled all of her music from Spotify. How lame is that?

@taylorswift13 Why have you removed your songs from spotify? That makes me so sad, I want your wonderful songs in My playlist.
