A former police marksman is due to appear in court today accused of the murder of robbery suspect Azelle Rodney.
Anthony Long, an ex-specialist firearms officer with the Metropolitan Police, will appear at London’s Southwark Crown Court this morning where he is expecetd to enter a plea.
Long is accused of killing Mr Rodney in April 2005.
Mr Rodney, 24, died after officers stopped the car he was travelling in with two other men in Edgware, north London.
Long will appear before Mr Justice Sweeney for a plea and case management hearing at 9.30am this morning.
